ABOUT

Storefront Academy Charter School, a public charter school, first opened its doors to students and families in the Mott Haven neighborhood in the Bronx in the Fall of 2015. Our mission, based on the success of our student outcomes, led us to open a second location in Harlem in 2019. With two locations now serving the communities of the South Bronx and Harlem, Storefront Academy Charter School is dedicated to building a strong community by educating urban youth of all learning abilities. Our learners succeed from Kindergarten to the 5th grade.

Storefront Academy Charter School is a focused setting with an optimal student/teacher ratio, which enables our faculty to more readily meet the individual needs of each student. We support all levels of learners with differentiated instruction and supplemental skills-based support. While Storefront Academy is free and open to all, students are selected through a lottery system. You can enter the lottery at any time by submitting an application.

SCHEDULE

The day at both the Bronx and Harlem Campus runs from 7:45 A.M. to 3:45 P.M., with an extended day option for learners in need of more support. In addition to their academic studies and robust social-emotional learning, students receive physical education, dance, and art classes weekly, and we offer additional support for English Language Learners.
